PMIS has two areas of concern in regards to Hipaa
Security
PMIS secures patient information via forced login of each user. Windows screen savers
with password authentication are strongly suggested. If your PMIS computers are accessible in area’s where patients
may view the screens you should force each user to login under their own name.
Please call to turn on forced login’s if you are not already being forced to enter a login name for PMIS.
Standard Electronic Claims
To meet Hipaa standard electronic claims formatting we have selected ENS Health as our clearinghouse vendor.
By using ENS Health we are able to offer not only hipaa compliant claims, but also the ability for our clients to view
claims status online, and check insurance eligibility using the largest payer list available.
